Watch together
Sit alongside your little learner and follow their interest. Pause when Benny appears, wave hello together and leave time for your child to respond with a look, gesture, sound or word. There is no need to join in with every activity.
Bring the garden off-screen
Choose a familiar soft toy and play a gentle hello-and-goodbye game. Name the toy, wave and wait for your child to take a turn. Use age-appropriate toys and supervise play.
